Coronavirus: Nigerians Being Exploited as The Price of Chloroquine Skyrockets

Nigerians are being exploited with the price of Chloroquine.

The Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) approves Chloroquine as the treatment of coronavirus COVID -19 and the price of Chloroquine skyrockets in Nigeria.

This Chloroquine, anti- malaria drug was banned decades ago for its adverse side-effects on human. Now it’s being celebrated as a lifesaver and some Pharmacies are using it as an opportunity to exploit Nigerians.

A Nollywood actor and filmmaker, Tchidi Chikere shared his experience on his social media page. According to him, the increase in the price of Chloroquine is almost six times the price it was formerly sold.

He wrote:

“JUST BOUGHT CHLOROQUINE NOW FOR 4,000 NAIRA PER SMALL PACK. USED TO BE 700 NAIRA PER PACK..NAIJA! EXPLOITATION.”
